About the GreenLivingUK foundress, Elena

Elena Daniilidou, sustainable living advocate, vegan and minimalist.
Hello! I am Elena Daniilidou – foundress, editor and content creator for GreenLivingUK.
I am a member of the Ethical Influencers Network – the digital community of online professionals dedicated to collectively working towards a better world and a member of The Vegan Women’s Leadership Network.
Currently I am studying Journalism and I am also a member of the National Union of Journalists.
I was a volunteer for the Trussell Trust foodbank for a few years and I am a keen fundraiser for various other charities.
I strive to be an Ethical Vegan. Ethical veganism is not just about avoiding animal ingredients in food; it is a philosophical belief protected by UK law and incorporated in most aspects of one’s life.
I was a volunteer for environmental organisations and animal welfare charities from a young age.
In 2003 I moved from Athens to the UK and later to Mombasa, Kenya, where I spent two years. I was a vegetarian for a few years and then transitioned into veganism in 2012.
My travels in different parts of the world, from Asia to South America, reinforced my belief that we need to mobilise every individual to act against social and environmental injustices to safeguard our communities and ecosystems for future generations.
“Let’s leave the world a little better than we found it.”
