The organisers of the VegfestUK take their events digital and offer them for FREE as the restrictions due to Covid19 toughen. VegfestUK is amongst the biggest events in Europe and has been running successfully season after season. The events will include a series of online Summits focusing on specific topics, a Christmas fair, and the Plant-Powered Expo in March 2021.
After the successful Summerfest Online that was held in August, the organisers decided to host all the events online for the foreseeable future and well into 2022. Live events will be back at some point in 2022 and 2023, depending on when the offline events will re-open safely to the public.
Attendance will be free without the need to register, and the events will be packed with presentations, live streams featuring a wide array of vegan and plant-based topics, and even virtual stalls! Visitors will be able to access them via the VegfestUK website and the organisers’ social media platforms.
👉The next VegfestUK will be a Summit focusing on Wildlife and is scheduled for November the 14th and 15th 2020.
👉There will also be a Christmas themed event on December the 12th and 13th, 2020 including a Summit focusing on Animal Rights – An Introduction.
👉For 2021, the organisers have scheduled another two – day event with a Sunday Summit on AR Activism. This event will take place on January 30th and 31st, 2021.
👉Finally, on March the 19th, 20th, and 21st 2021 we will see the newly launched (in February 2020) Plant-Powered Expo, celebrating the best of plant-based living, including a Trade focus on Friday and a Health and Fitness focus for the weekend.
Tim Barford, VegfestUK organiser, said about this strategic move:
“Working online has been really exhilarating in part because its free to attend, and in part because it’s a truly global format, and in part because it’s very accessible. The Saturday allows us to focus on a festival style format especially suitable for people new to the idea of veganism or just getting familiar with plant based diets, whilst the Sunday Summit means a more focused and in depth approach which will suit those already vegan a bit more.”“Put together, both days for all our online events moving forward will see a feast of all things vegan, a combination of entertainment, education and inspiration, a true reflection on the different tenets and facets of this way of life, and a chance to really explore them in detail with a number of expert speakers and panellists to facilitate this. Plenty of exhibitors too, many with special offers. We’re really looking forward to producing these events and are lucky to be able to move online at a time when events everywhere are facing a very challenging future.”
